JNRCS, partners celebrate International Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent

Ammon News - The Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS), the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies commemorated International Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, which is observed this year under the hashtag #behumankind.

At a ceremony marking the day in Amman on Saturday, Muhammad Al-Hadid, JNRCS President, expressed pride in the society's achievements over the past two years, particularly in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, noting that the ceremony is an opportunity to meet with JNRCS staff and volunteers from various branches across the Kingdom, as well as supporters and partners in humanitarian work.

Al-Hadid expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti Red Crescent, the Emirates Red Crescent, the Iraqi Red Crescent, the Qatar Red Crescent, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for their unwavering support. "We are one family that looks after all of its members," he continued, "particularly with the huge issues that the globe is facing, especially after the Corona pandemic, the severe economic situation, the food crisis, and climate change." He urged for a concerted effort to meet these obstacles and ensure that all people have access.

A video presentation of the Jordanian Red Crescent's most notable humanitarian initiatives in 2021 was shown during the event. A number of high achievers and a select group of Jordanian Red Crescent volunteers were honored for their tireless volunteer activities, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.
