Monkeypox cases detected in Spain

Ammon News - Health authorities in Spain announced on Thursday they had identified the first case of a rare monkeypox infection, after outbreaks in Portugal and the United Kingdom.

According to the Guardian newspaper, a nationwide alert of a possible outbreak had been issued to guarantee a swift, coordinated and timely response, after 23 people developed compatible symptoms.

Early symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes and chills. A rash that can look like chickenpox or syphilis can also develop and spread from the face to other parts of the body.
