Ammon News - The National Agriculture Research Centre (NARC) Sunday met with a delegation of the Orange Corners Initiative on cooperation and partnership in scientific research and startup support.
The delegation, headed by Ramiro Monteiro, Orange Corners Programme Advisor, was briefed about the experience of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator at NARC.
The Director-General of NARC, Nizar Haddad, said the visit seeks the enhancement of cooperation with partners on scientific research, creating an infrastructure for incubators and supporting startups, which will create job opportunities for the youth.
Haddad explained to the delegation about the incubator of innovation and agricultural entrepreneurship, as well as the pioneering projects of the incubator and how they can be a "nucleus" for improvement and development to encourage the usage of modern agricultural technology.
For his part, Monteiro praised the incubator’s infrastructure and its role in embracing innovators, noting that the programme is aimed at providing technical and logistical support to entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Africa through holding training.
He said the programme has operated in 13 countries in the Middle East and Africa, expressing that he is keen on constructive and fruitful cooperation with the Centre to support entrepreneurs and startups.
The delegation's visit is part of the Orange Corners Initiative that is supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency that promotes cooperation in the areas of innovation, leadership and creativity.
