Iraq, Lebanon to celebrate al-Fitr Eid Monday

Ammon News - Iraq Saturday announced that Monday, May 2, will be the first day of the al-Fitr Eid holiday.

Iraq's Sunni Endowment Office said that the crescent of Shawwal was not sighted when specialised astronomers inspected it on Saturday, meaning that tomorrow (Sunday, May 1) will be the last day of Ramadan and Monday (May 2, 2022) will be the first day of Eid.

Lebanon also announced that Monday will be the first day of Eid, following many Arab countries, as the country's Grand Mufti said today that Sunday, May 1, will be the last day of Ramadan and Monday will be the first day of Eid.
