Ammon News - Despite the sanctity of the Christian holidays, the Israeli occupation is “deliberately practising systematic methods of harassment against Muslim and Christian Jerusalemites”, Secretary General of the Royal Committee for the Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan said on Monday.
Kanaan said that “Israel rejects such celebrations due to the fact that they express unity among Jerusalemites and their attachment to their holy sites,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that the committee reiterated Jordan’s “unaltered and fixed stance” that supports and defends the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Ahmad Awad, head of the Jerusalem centre for future studies at Al Quds University, said that the Christian holidays, just like Muslim occasions, are subject to the occupation’s “racist practices”.
