Ammon News - The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) to export goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries in the first quarter of 2022 went up by 30.6 percent from the same period of 2021.
According to figures released Wednesday, the number of issued certificates of origin inched up by 4.7 percent, reaching 5,084 against 4,858 in 2021.
ACC exports stood at JD197 million in the first quarter of 2022 compared to JD151 million in the same period of 2021.
In its country breakdown of the figures, the ACC noted that a total of 810 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates (759), Iraq (283), Egypt (258) and India (54).
The majority of exports in the first quarter of the current year went to Egypt, which accounted for JD38 million, followed by Iraq with JD35 million, India with JD26 million, the UAE with JD16 million and Saudi Arabia with JD14 million.
Furthermore, the value of re-exports (exports of foreign products) in the same period stood at JD83 million, while the value of industrial exports amounted to JD70 million, agricultural exports stood at JD18 million, and Arab products were at JD14 million.
