Post-COVID tourism recovery ‘exceptional’ for Aqaba ports — official

Ammon News - Aqaba ports have received 25 tourist ships so far this year, carrying 18,000 tourists of various nationalities, who visited the “Golden Triangle” of Wadi Rum, Petra and Aqaba, Aqaba Tourism Director Imad Rawahneh said on Monday.

Rawahneh expected the number to further increase after the recovery of the tourist sector from repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He said that the pandemic has affected the number of ships docking at the Aqaba port, describing this year as “exceptional” and is expecting the arrival of dozens of ships to the coastal city this year carrying some 100,000 tourists of European nationalities.
