Ammon News - Founder of the Khotowat (Steps) youth initiative, Abdulsalam Maaitah, on Sunday received Mexico’s Ambassador to Jordan Rodriguez-Hernandez and the embassy's consul.
Maaitah gave a briefing on the Karak-based initiative's directions and objectives, highlighting some visits carried out by initiative participants within under its tourism, heritage and cultural trail, in addition to a presentation of the initiative's future aspirations and programs.
The visit included a tour at the Ministry of Culture's Al-Hassan Cultural Center, the Karak Citadel, and the Greater Karak Municipality's Museum of Folklore.
Museum Director, Rakez Al-Aroud, lauded the political, cultural and historical deep ties between Jordan and Mexico, highlighting aspects of cooperation and mutual respect between the two leaderships, stressing the importance of heritage museums in preserving the identity of peoples.
In turn, Director of the Karak Culture Department, Urouba Shamaileh, briefed the guests on the importance of the center as a major cultural establishment that hosts artistic, poetic and musical events, theater and drama performances, in addition to hosting a library for adults and children.
