Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez on Saturday inaugurated the fifth edition of the Oscar Pioneers conference in Aqaba, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The conference, held in Ayla Oasis, seeks to shed light on global women's experiences in the fields of sustainable development.

Thanks to Royal directives, Jordanian women were able to obtain significant achievements and assume a number of high-profile positions, he said, adding that these directives cemented women’s political, social and economic roles and eliminated obstacles limiting women’s aspirations and abilities.

Fayez stressed the importance of the conference in bolstering women’s roles and empowering them, noting that women’s participation in public life is a main concern for governments and civil institutions, especially in the fields of democracy and human rights.
