Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources official Hassan Hiyari said in a press release that he expects Iraqi oil imports to resume in early April after being suspended in early February pending discussion of details in the MoU, praising the Iraqi side for its cooperation. Hiyari said about 1.505 million barrels of Iraqi crude had been supplied to Jordan over the period between September 1, 2021, and January 30, 2022, at a daily rate of about 9,899 barrels, which were shipped by 5,866 Iraqi and Jordanian trucks from the Baiji station to the Zarqa refinery. Jordan imports Iraqi crude under the MoU that was signed by the two governments on 28/1/2021, which sets a cap of 10,000 barrels daily that meet part of the Kingdom's energy needs.
