Industry minister attends opening of Jordan Food Exhibition 2022

Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Youssef Shamali, on Tuesday evening inaugurated the fifth Jordan Food Exhibition 2022, with wide participation from various industrial and commercial entities in the Kingdom.

The exhibition, which is held at the Jordan Center for International Exhibitions and Conferences (Mecca Mall), will be attended by 30 companies representing traders, importers, exporters, manufacturers of foodstuffs and major commercial centers (malls) operating in the Kingdom, in addition to 35 major local food factories that export their production to various countries of the world.

Organizers of the exhibition, which continues until Saturday, are seeking to inform citizens on technical specifications that characterize Jordan's food industries and imports, and efforts to provide foodstuffs and commodities to the local market with high quality and specifications.

Vice President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), Mohammad Al-Jitan, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the exhibition constitutes a unique event in the Kingdom, as it brings together responsible entities for securing and providing food under one roof, in addition to providing direct sales service to citizens.

He added that the exhibition is a forum for food manufacturers, importers and owners of major commercial centers to display their goods and services of foodstuffs they provide to consumers, indicating that it shows the role of the Jordanian private sector in general and members of the General Association For Foodstuffs Merchants in particular in securing the Kingdom with safe food and a strategic stock of food and basic commodities, to achieve food security.

The exhibition dedicated a special pavilion to cooperative societies that manufacture foodstuffs that have received support from the Hashemite Fund to promote their products and inform citizens on them, while many offers will be provided throughout the exhibition at preferential prices and sold directly to citizens.
