Ammon News - A Qatari delegation, chaired by Chairman of the National Committee for Qatari International Humanitarian Law, Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Suwaidi, on Wednesday visited the University of Jordan (JU).
JU President, Nathir Obaidat, told the delegation that JU's mission is not only limited to serving Jordanian students, but a;so extends to serve Arab countries as well as countries of the world, expressing his pride in the cooperation relations that bring the JU together with Qatari academic institutions.
He pointed out that the JU welcomes the increase in the number of foreign students due to the need to raise its rank at the world level in some classifications that require reaching a certain percentage to achieve this progress.
Al-Suwaidi lauded Jordanian-Qatari ties, noting that a JU graduate has priority in many areas of work and employment, regardless of his specialization, due to the university's legacy and global standing.
He underlined the importance of activating means of cooperation in the field of international humanitarian law, and activating its culture through conducting specialized research on this subject, as well as exchanging expertise and competencies capable of disseminating its content.
The delegation met with some Qatari students studying at the university and checked on their conditions.
