Ammon News - Jordan's trade balance with the United States registered a surplus of JD600 million last year, according to latest foreign trade statistics.
According to the data released by the Department of Statistics Tuesday, national exports to the United States increased by 30 per cent in 2021, reaching about 1.586 billion dinars, compared to 1.220 billion dinars in 2020.
The Kingdom's imports from the United States also rose last year, reaching about 988 million dinars, compared to 976 million in 2020, according to the figures.
Garments and textiles are key exports to the US market, followed by engineering industries, foodstuff, Dead Sea cosmetics and jewelry.
The balance of trade is the difference between the value of a country's exports and imports in a given period, and is the largest component of its balance of payments.
