Investment Ministry voices readiness to provide facilities to Jordanian businessmen in China

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Zaher Qatarneh said that the ministry is ready to enhance all forms of joint cooperation with Jordanian businessmen in China, and provide them with all facilities.

In a meeting with a group of Jordanian businessmen in China held via Zoom in cooperation with Jordan's Embassy in Beijing, Qatarneh said that the creation of the Ministry of Investment was based on a royal vision to stimulate and enhance local investments, attract foreign investments, and enhance the competitiveness of key economic sectors in Jordan, a ministry statement said Tuesday.

He added that work is underway to develop a strategy to promote investment in Jordan with the aim of attracting foreign investments in priority sectors, especially in industry, tourism, information technology and health sectors.

Work, Qatarneh added, is also underway to devise a new investment law to develop the investment and business environment, with the aim of enhancing existing investments in the Kingdom, in addition to attracting Arab and foreign investment to Jordan.

In the meeting, Qatarneh highlighted key promising investment opportunities and benefits, in addition to the free trade agreements that paved the way for Jordanian products to access many competitive markets.

For his part, Jordan's Ambassador in Beijing, Hussam Husseini, said that the aim of holding meetings with Jordanian investors in China is to inform them of the latest developments that the Jordanian government is working on, in order to provide investors with facilities and create an attractive environment for them, voicing the Jordanian embassy in China's readiness to provide all forms of support to businessmen to invest in Jordan.
