Jordan’s trade balance deficit with EU stands at JD2.6bln in 2021-DoS

The Kingdom's trade balance deficit with the European Union countries increased during 2021, by 12.9%, to reach about JD2.671 billion, compared to 2020, which amounted to about JD2.364 billion.

According to foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) released Saturday, the value of national exports to EU countries rose during 2021, marking a 29.9 per cent increase, to reach about JD199 million, compared to 2020, which amounted to about JD153 million.

The department's figures also revealed that the value of imports from the EU also increased in 2021 by 14 percent, reaching about JD2.870 billion, compared to 2020, which amounted to JD2.517 billion.

In addition, the data showed that Holland was the top importer of Jordanian products last year, reaching about JD39 million, while Germany was the EU’s largest exporter to the Kingdom, which amounted to approximately JD544 million.
