Ammon News - Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday attacked Palestinians protesting eviction orders and their sympathizers in East Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, injuring a number of them.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that the occupation forces "brutally" assaulted men, women, youth and children in the flashpoint neighborhood, causing injuries, including a disabled child who was transferred to the local Al-Makassed Hospital.
It said medics also dealt with three injuries after troops and police assaulted the protesters and searched an ambulance transferring an injured man to hospital.
Further north in the occupied West Bank, a number of Palestinians suffocated after the Israeli army fired tear gas against people protesting, for the second straight day, against assaults and harassment by Jewish settlers at the entrance to Lubban village.
Head of the local council Yaqub Oweis said the hardcore settlers, escorted by soldiers, were blocking the entrance to the village, south of Nablus, and deliberately denying students access to their schools and preventing workers from reaching their businesses.
Israeli troops also raided about half a dozen West Bank cities and towns overnight and arrested 20 Palestinians.
