Households with a power bill below JD50 who consume less than 600 kilowatt/hour account for 90 per cent of Jordanians and will not be affected by the "restructuring" of the electricity tariff, according to the government. The latest EMRC figures showed that 98.6 per cent of applicants for the subsidized tariff are Jordanians, including 1.43 per cent women married to non-Jordanians, and the rest are registered Gazans residing in the Kingdom and holders of temporary Jordanian passports. The commission said it dealt with 1,556 queries and complaints and will address other observations.
