Ammon News - Jewish settlers on Tuesday rampaged through the flashpoint Sheikh Jarrah neighbiourhood in occupied East Jerusalem, attacking Palestinians and their property.
Dozens of settlers stormed Sheikh Jarrah last night and at dawn with stones and knives, assaulting property, smashing vehicles and slashing tires, as far right Knesset member Itamar Ben-Gvir vowed that his office will remain in Sheikh Jarrah.
Ben-Gvir, backed by extremist settlers, has set up a parliamentary office on Palestinian-owned land adjacent to the home of a Palestinian family facing imminent eviction by the occupation authorities, and set up a parliamentary office there.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Jerusalem said in a statement that the settlers sprayed gas at Palestinian youths and pelted them with stones, adding that the attacks on vehicles took place under the protection of Israeli police.
