15-02-2022 04:54 PM

Ammon News - At least 7 seven people, including two children, were found dead and more than 30 injured after an explosion sent fire raging in a building in Eastern Pyrenees, southern France on Monday.

French authorities said the explosion happened in Saint Laurent de la Salanc, near Spanish borders, and caused fire to break out in three buildings, according to France Bleu.

Jean-David Cavaillé, the Perpignan public prosecutor, said two people are still missing, noting that the cause of the explosion is still unknown and an investigation is underway.

About a hundred firefighters were gathered at the scene to contain the fire but said the building remained too dangerous to enter.
