Ammon News - A tangible drop in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, bringing chilly weather conditions and rainfall in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The eastern and southwestern areas will also witness scattered showers, with a slight chance for spotty snowfall in the mountains.

The weather department issued several weather-related warnings, including low horizontal visibility caused by wind-triggered dust, flood formation in valleys and low lying areas including the Dead Sea, slippery roads due to rainfall and fog formation in mountainous areas.

On Friday, a slight rise in mercury levels is expected but similar cold and cloudy weather will persist, with spotty rain. Frost will be formed at night hours in the high areas and the Badia, while winds will be northwesterly moderate.

Another rise in temperatures is expected on Saturday and Sunday, bringing relatively cold weather with southeasterly light winds.

Today, mercury in Amman will range between a high of 9 degrees Celsius and a low of 3C at night, meanwhile Aqaba will see a fair 20C, dropping to 11C at night.
