Ammon News - The Hungarian ultra-low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced Wednesday the reopening of reservations on the Aqaba-Abu Dhabi route, which demonstrates the trust of global air carriers in tourism in Jordan's port city, according to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Deputy Chief Commissioner Sharhabeel Madi.

The move came at a time ASEZA seeks to attract new low-cost carriers to boost the number of tourists, Madi said.

He added the first Wizz Air flight, coming from Abu Dhabi to Aqaba King Hussein International Airport, will land on February 28.

The Aqaba Airport operates under "open skies airport policy", allowing to provide more landing rights than those in traditional bilateral agreements, Madi indicated, adding that the airport is witnessing an increasing demand on shipping and distribution.
