Recent rainfall channels 5mcm into dams

Ammon News - The recent rainfall channeled a total of 5 million cubic meters (mcm) into the Kingdom's major dams, about 3 mcm of which poured into the King Talal dam in the last 24 hours.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation said the downpour contributed 59 percent of the Kingdom's long-term annual average rainfall of 8.1 billion mcm.

Rain monitoring stations, it noted, recorded the highest precipitation of 11.6 millimeters in the last 24 hours in Salt governorate.

Amman registered a general downpour average of 7 millimeters, followed by Balqa with 5.1, Madaba (3.5), Zarqa (1.2), Jerash (2.7), Mafraq (0.7), Irbid (2.6), Ajloun (7.5), Karak (1.3) and Tafeileh (0.8).
