12 Covid fatalities, 12,751 cases recorded Saturday

Ammon News - The Health Ministry said Saturday it registered 12 coronavirus deaths, and 12,751 cases, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 13,300 and the caseload to 1,314,243.

It said in its daily brief that 25.28% of 50,439 PCR tests collected today came back positive, adding that the number of currently active Covid-19 cases in the Kingdom stood at 137,153 with 208 admitted to hospitals, raising the number of hospitalizations to 1,146. Some 148 Covid-19 patients have left hospitals.

On hospitals' capacity, the ministry said that the occupancy rate of isolation wards in the north of the Kingdom was at 22%, intensive care beds 33% and respirators 12%.

In the central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 32%, intensive care 47% and respirators 19%, it said.

In the southern region, the occupancy of isolation wards was 17%, intensive care 16% and respirators 16%, according to the daily statistics.

Some 7,691 patients who contracted the virus have recovered, bringing expected total recoveries after the 14-day quarantine period to 1,163,790, the figures showed.

on vaccinations, the ministry's figures showed that 4,605,794 people have taken the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccines and those who were double-jabbed numbered 4,261,020.
