PM meets Saudi Shura Council Chairman

Ammon News - Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh on Thursday received Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council Abdullah Al Sheikh and an accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the premier underscored the historical relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, noting that they are a priority for His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Khasawneh underlined Jordan's solidarity with Saudi Arabia against any aggression targeting its security and stability, adding that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of Jordan's security.

He pointed to the "NEOM" project, which comes within the framework of Saudi Arabia's development vision and was adopted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The project, he said, links Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and would serve their economies and attract investments to the three countries.

For his part, the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council pointed out that it supports the two countries' governments and their efforts to develop economic and investment cooperation.

He pointed to the importance of cementing cooperation in various fields, especially in the parliamentary, economic and trade areas, in addition to cutting red-tape for businessmen and investors, and facilitating travel between the two countries.
