PDTRA Chief Commissioner Suleiman Farajat said that Petra, some 220km south of Amman, usually witnesses a decline in the number of visitors in January compared to December, expecting a rise in tourist footfall during the high season in March. "PDTRA is seeking to improve the services provided to local, Arab and foreign tourists in Petra through several projects, most notably linking downtown with the tourist street, utilizing the heritage village, and increasing the number of the city's hotel rooms," he added.
