FM conveys King's letter to Emir of Kuwait

Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Sunday delivered His Majesty King Abdullah II's greetings to Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Deputy Emir and Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Majesty's keenness to strengthen the Jordanian-Kuwaiti "historic, brotherly" relations.

Receiving Safadi and the Arab foreign ministers prior the beginning of the consultative meeting hosted by Kuwait, Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal affirmed pride in the "distinguished strategic" relations between the two countries, and conveyed Kuwaiti emir's greetings to His Majesty.

Saturday evening, Safadi held talks with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, on expanding bilateral cooperation, and discussed a number of Arab and regional issues of common interest.

The two ministers reviewed preparations for the joint higher committee meeting to be held this year in Kuwait.

Safadi and Sheikh Ahmed discussed ways to increase economic and investment cooperation, in the education, food security and defense areas.

Affirming the "solid, historic, brotherly" relations, Safadi and Sheikh Ahmed stressed their keenness to advance the ties to "broader" horizons in implementation of the two countries' leaderships' directives.

The two ministers also discussed regional developments and pledged continued coordination in efforts to resolve regional crises.

In addition, the duo stressed the importance of the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers at this "sensitive" stage, to coordinate efforts and intensify cooperation in addressing challenges.

Discussions also went over developments related to the Palestinian issue, as well as the situations in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Libya, support for Iraq and the fight against terrorism, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Today, Safadi is scheduled to participate in the consultative Arab League meeting at the ministerial level, which is hosted by Kuwait.
