PSD chief visits CDD, commends its cadres efforts

Ammon News - Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, commended the advanced level that the civil defense cadres have reached, and ambulance, rescue, firefighting and comprehensive humanitarian services they provide to citizens and residents around the clock.

In a visit to the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD), PSD chief said that since the start of the merger of security agencies, the CDD had the priority in the development and rehabilitation processes. "We had raced against time to introduce latest modern systems of the civil protection system, which was evident in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and its exceptional circumstances and duties."

He said, "We have spared no effort to continue this process and enable civil defense cadres to carry out their duties, provide additional services, and improve the quality of previous services."

He urged to provide the same services to recipients wherever they are in Jordan with the same efficiency, pointing out to the achievements in reducing response time. "We are looking forward to more in the future."

Hawatmeh also called for activating all necessary plans to deal with the polar depression that will affect the Kingdom on Wednesday and harnessing all specialized capabilities, equipment and machines and placing them in the field to respond to any calls or accidents with all efficiency, speed and ability.

He gave instructions to continue to rehabilitate human cadres, including paramedics and rescuers, and to follow up on updating the fleet of ambulances and rescue vehicles, and providing them with the necessary equipment, to enable their crews to carry out their duties and provide ambulance and rescue services, and to use GPS systems to facilitate the speedy arrival of specialized teams to the site of the event at the maximum speed.

The Acting Director of Civil Defense gave a briefing on key plans and statistics of accidents and services provided by the CDD, and leading machines and equipment that were introduced into the civil protection system.
