Ammon News - The recent precipitation raised the overall volume of rainfall, since the beginning of the wet season, to 32.7 percent of Jordan’s long-term annual average of rainfall of 8.1 billion cubic meters, the ministry of water said.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that until Sunday morning, the rainfall channeled around 1,3 million cubic meters (mcm) of water into the Kingdom’s major dams, which equals 26.77 percent of their total storage capacity of 336.4 mcm.

The ministry noted that the water flow needs between 24 and 48 hours to reach dams, calling on the public not to litter in valley streams in order to preserve surface and groundwater, and to ensure that rainwater gutters are not connected to sewage networks.
