British Council announces finalists for Study UK alumni Awards in Jordan

Ammon News - The British Council in Amman announced Monday the 11 finalists for the Study UK Alumni Awards 2021-22 in Jordan, which were selected from more than 1,500 applicants from around the world.

The four award winners will be announced at a ceremony on 30 January 2022

The council said these nominees were chosen for their outstanding achievements as business professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders, and for their important contribution to strengthening collaborative ties between the UK and Jordan, according to a press release.

"The prestigious international award celebrates UK higher education and the achievements of UK alumni all over the world. Now in its eighth year, international UK alumni applied from more than 100 countries, representing more than 140 UK higher education institutions across the UK", the council added.

"We are delighted to launch the British Council’s Global Study UK Alumni Awards in Jordan for this first time this year", said Summer Xia, Director of the British Council in Jordan said, pointing out that the "remarkable individuals" selected as finalists for the Study UK Alumni Awards in Jordan have all taken their UK education as a starting point to excel in their chosen careers and shape the world around them.

Jordan is the first country to host the awards this year and will be followed by awarding ceremonies in a further eight countries, including, India, Qatar and Azerbaijan.
