Ammon News - The Ministry of Social Development on Sunday issued a circular for charities in the Kingdom, stressing the need to commit to collecting donations according to regulation No.1 of 1957, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The regulation stipulates charities to include all details related to approved charitable campaigns such as their number, date, duration, scope of the campaign and means of collecting donations, Petra reported, adding that all receipts must be stamped and signed by the Social Development Ministry.

The circular was released due to complaints surrounding the conduct of fundraising campaigns based on false allegations with forged receipt documents, according to Petra. The ministry added that the circular came in a regulatory context, for the purposes of organising these campaigns and increasing their credibility among the local community.
