Ammon News - The weather on Sunday will be relatively cold in most parts of the country and fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with clouds at high and medium altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
At night, unstable weather conditions are forecast to prevail, bringing a cold and cloudy weather with light rainfall in the southern region, including Aqaba. The rain may extend to the eastern regions and turn into heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms and hails.
Winds will be southeasterly to westerly moderate, picking up at times and stirring dust in the Badia.
The JMD warned of slippery roads in areas expecting rainfall and low visibility in Badia areas due to winds raising dust. It also forewarned of flood formation in valley and low-altitude areas, and of the rising sea waves in the port of Aqaba.
On Monday, a significant drop in temperatures is expected, bringing chilly weather across the Kingdom, with clouds at low altitudes and southwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
Similar conditions will persist on Tuesday despite a slight rise in mercury levels, the JMD added.
Today, the maximum and minimum temperatures in eastern Amman are set to range between 18 Celsius degrees to 6C, while Amman's west will see 16C at daytime, dipping into 5C at night. The Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 22C, sliding to 10C during night hours.
