According to a monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) on Sunday, total exports in the January-October period of 2021 reached JD5.330 billion, up by 15.9 compared with the JD4.597 billion recorded in the same period of 2020. National exports in the same period of 2021 rose by 18.1 percent, reaching JD4.848 billion compared to JD4.105 billion in the same period of 2020, figures showed. The value of re-exports were at JD482.5 million, down by 2.1 percent compared with the JD493 million of same period of 2020, the DoS added. Imports also went up by 23.8 percent, reaching JD12.391 billion compared to the JD10.010 billion recorded in the same period of 2020. Accordingly, the export-to-import ratio stood at 43 percent in the January-October period of 2021, compared with 45.9 percent in the same period of 2020, indicating a 2.9 percent drop.
