Zakat Fund pays JD70k to release 90 indebted women

Ammon News - Jordan's Zakat Fund paid JD70k for the release of 90 women who were imprisoned after failing to pay back their loans as part of the fund's 6th batch of aid.

Chairing Zakat Fund Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, announced payment of the indebted women's loans, wanted by judicial authorities.

In its meeting, the board of directors also agreed to hold 25 charitable events aimed to offer assistance to impoverished families countrywide at a value of JD1 million, in addition to the restoring and constructing a number of housing units.
