Ammon News - Awqaf Minister, Mohammad Khalaileh, said that the his ministry is about to complete setting up a savings fund for the ministry’s administrators and mosque cadres.
During his meeting with imams and preachers of the Second Amman Awqaf Directorate, on Monday, Khalaileh said that the ministry pays great attention to its cadres in mosques, including imams, preachers and muezzins, and seeks to support, train and develop them by holding courses and workshops through the King Abdullah II Institute for Training Imams and Preachers.
The minister lauded efforts of imams, preachers and muezzins, who reflect the ministry’s message that is based on advocacy and guidance. He urged imams and scholars to continue to perform their noble mission and to direct people to imitate the morals of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and to arm themselves with the true religion's values and morals.
He called on the attendees to keep instructing citizens to continue adhering to the health protocol to confront the Coronavirus, and its new variants, to commit to wearing masks, and to bring a prayer rug in order to protect themselves, because one of the purposes of Islamic Sharia is to preserve oneself, and not to endanger human life.
Khalaileh revealed that the Awqaf Ministry has lost 25 imams and muezzins due to the Coronavirus, while the total number of infected people among administrators and cadres of mosques reached about 1,250.
