Ammon News - The National Epidemiological Committee (NEC) has recommended that children, aged 5 to 11, be vaccinated against COVID-19, assuring that it is not mandatory.

During a meeting held Tuesday evening, the committee also recommended that public transport drivers and truckers receive a booster dose, if three months have passed since they received the second jab, in addition to undergoing a PCR test in the Kingdom every 72 hours.

Adviser at the Prime Ministry for Health Affairs and the COVID-19, Adel Balbisi, who is also a member of the NEC, explained to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) Wednesday that the recommendation comes after a noticeable effectiveness of the third booster dose in raising immunity against the variant Omicron.
