Yarmouk University president, US Embassy delegation discuss cooperation

Ammon News - President of Yarmouk University, Islam Massad, received a US Embassy delegation, included Deputy Cultural Attaché, Benjamin Rudy, and Academic Cooperation Adviser, Irene Petro, for a discussion on ways to enhance academic and research cooperation between Yarmouk University and American universities.

Massad said that Yarmouk University seeks to consolidate its academic and research cooperation with various prestigious international universities, underlining the importance of strengthening ties with American universities by increasing student exchange programs that provide an opportunity for students to spend a semester at an American university, which will positively reflect on their scientific and cultural level.

Massad added that Yarmouk University seeks to take the lead in the field of linking different disciplines with each other and to break away from the traditional education pattern.

He called on the embassy to boost cooperation with American universities to benefit from their expertise in this field, conduct scientific research and participate in research projects in various scientific fields, as well as providing training opportunities for Yarmouk students in American institutions in the fields of engineering and artificial intelligence.

Members of the delegation lauded the distinguished level of Yarmouk University graduates from various disciplines, which turned it into a destination for academic and research cooperation from various international universities.

They added that the embassy seeks to bolster cooperation between various American universities and Yarmouk University through student exchange programs and faculty members, as well as providing scholarships for Yarmouk students to complete their studies for various degrees.
