Ammon News - The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on Sunday launched an initiative to provide at least 150 jobs in the southern governorate of Aqaba.
The JD568,000 initiative agreement, signed with Crystel, a local communication service business company, is set to be allocated from the ministry's budget, a ministry statement said.
During the signing ceremony, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh reaffirmed the government's continued support for leading development initiatives targeting Jordanian youth, calling on all companies that support youth employment to contribute to government efforts aimed at bringing about local development in the governorates and to submit similar initiatives to the ministry in order to study them and examine the possibility of funding them.
Shraideh added that the ministry is committed to serving local development issues and improving citizens' standard of living in light of the Covid pandemic and its impact on local communities, especially the high unemployment rates among Jordanian youth, as the Ministry has adopted a new methodology, policies and tools for local development that respond to challenges, align with national priorities and focus on economic sustainability.
