Sales of national olive festival top JD3 million

Ammon News - Sales revenue of the 21st National Olive Festival and Rural Products Exhibition has topped JD3 million, an official announced Sunday.

The sales of the 10-day festival included olive oil and various rural products, in addition to production kitchens, and the quantities of oil sold amounted to 232 tons, Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), Nizar Haddad, said in a statement.

Most of oil bottles in the festival grounds were classified of extra virgin and virgin oil, with the lowest acidity percentage reaching 0.18, Haddad added.

Haddad noted that 263,458 people visited the festival, pointing out that a number of new techniques through agricultural innovation incubator projects were introduced for the first time; where a smart tracking label (QR Code) was installed on oil bottles, in addition to e-marketing, e-payment, and crowd management gates

the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) concluded the activities of the 21st National Olive Festival and Rural Products Exhibition, with sales revenue of more than (3) million dinars over ten days. The festival was conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and many local and international partners.

He explained that the idea of the festival comes across the framework of the mission of NARC, the scientific arm of the Ministry of Agriculture, to add a new dimension in achieving sustainable development goals by providing a marketing platform for small farmers and rural families in the governorates and marginal areas.

Participants in the festival attended training courses on e-marketing. The festival also witnessed cultural, artistic and poetic evenings, modeling shows of Jordanian traditional costumes, and performances for children, in addition to agricultural lectures targeting about 450 male and female students from eight public and private Jordanian universities.
