Expat remittances stand at $2.2b to end of last August-CBJ data

Ammon News - The total remittances of Jordanians working abroad stood at $2.2 billion (some JD1.6 million) to end of last August, preliminary data of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) showed on Wednesday.

The total amount of remittances in the January-August period 2021 rose in comparison with 2020 by 0.9%, the CBJ said.

At the level of last August, expat remittances increased by JD6.6 million, or 3.5%, to stand nearly at JD194 million ($274 million) compared to August 2020, the CBJ figures revealed.
