Ministry plans to develop digital skills curriculum

The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh said Wednesday that the ministry is preparing a new curriculum on digital skills for public school students from the seventh to the twelfth grades.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Hanandeh said that the first stage has been completed, which involved drawing up a general framework of the curriculum and examining top international models, while the second stage involves floating a tender to create the curriculum and train teachers.

The new curriculum, the ministry indicated, will be made in cooperation with the Ministry of Education through the development of a digital skills course and the preparation of three to five technology centers operating under the management of the private sector.

The project titled "Youth, Technology and Jobs" was launched by the government in in September of last year, with a $200 million funding from the World Bank and donor countries with the aim of improving income opportunities in the digital sector and expanding government digital services.
