Ammon News - Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to rise 5-6 degrees above annual average, bringing hot conditions in the highlands and the plains, while it will be scorching in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.

In its daily report, the weather department warned the public of direct exposure to sunlight, mainly at noon, and of poor horizantal visibility due to dust in the Badia areas.

As we head into Thursday, mercury levels will drop few degrees, making relatively hot weather in the hilly areas and the plains, and hot conditions in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with clouds at various altitudes, the meteorologists predicted.

On Friday, a further dip in temperatures is forecast, becoming around seasonal average and returning back normal summer weather in the heights and the plains, while it will remain hot in other regions, the JMD further said.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Wednesday will range between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 20C or even 15C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 41C and a low of 28C.
