Jordan would see the remaining COVID-19 restrictions lifted Wednesday September 1 as part of the government's scheme to achieve a "Safe Summer," said media minister Tuesday.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakhr Dudin said, in its third phase, the "Safe Summer" scheme would allow for in-shcool learning and for universities to open their campus. It would also see 100 percent capacity at the workplace, with the exception of wedding halls that would only operate at 50 percent capacity and a cap of 200 people.

Theaters, festivals and exhibits would also have to operate within certain restrictions.

He said Defence Order (32), which obligates non-vaccinated workers to do a PCR test every Sunday and Thursday, would take effect Wednesday, September 1.

Institutions that violate Defence Order (32) could be subject to closures.
