Ammon News -

President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry Fathi Jaghbir said Saturday that door-to-door shipping services with Iraq will be back on track as of August 22.

In a circular to industry chambers, Jaghbir said that the decision to resume door-to-door shipping with Iraq, which was announced by the Interior Minister, also allowed back-to-back export shipping.

The decision, he said, was based on the close follow-up of the situation by the industry chambers and their demand for the return of door-to-door delivery service, adding that door-to-door, shipping cargo from origin to destination, will reduce costs and enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products in the Iraqi market.

Head of the Syndicate of Owners of Clearance and Cargo Transport Companies Dhaifallah Abu Aqoula said that the decision allowing Jordanian trucks to directly enter Iraq and the entry of Iraqi trucks to the Kingdom "will reflect positively on the overall transport system, the freight fleet and exports."

He told Petra in an interview that the decision will save time for the merchant and industrialist, speed up the arrival of Jordanian goods to the Iraqi market and reactivate the trucking industry and accelerate the flow of transit goods.
