Ammon News - The Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Association with Latin and Central American countries on Sunday discussed with the Brazilian Ambassador to Jordan, Ruy Amaral, ways to enhance the bilateral relations in all fields.
Speaking during the meeting, the association's head, MP Andre Hawari, praised the level of Jordan-Brazil relations, describing them as "distinguished and strong" in all fields, calling on promoting joint trade exchange by providing incentives and advantages that facilitate this process.
The lawmaker also stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, adding that Jordan considers the Palestinian cause as a top priority.
The association's members, meanwhile, demanded the launch of a free trade agreement between the two friendly countries, which will enhance economic channels and benefit from investment opportunities to build "real" partnerships.
They also called on overcoming all the difficulties that the Jordanian private sector needs to increase networking with its Brazilian counterpart.
The envoy, for his part, said Jordan and Brazil have "distinguished, historic" relations over seven decades are based on mutual respect, stressing the importance of continuing to strengthen and develop the ties, especially in the commercial and economic fields.
