Ammon News - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed appointment of Hans Grundberg as the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen.

In a press statement on Sunday, the ministry's official spokesperson, Dhaifallah Fayez, expressed the Kingdom's welcome of this decision, and wished Grundberg success in his new duties.

Fayez also affirmed the Kingdom’s support for the UN role and all international and regional efforts aimed at ending the Yemeni crisis, stopping deterioration of the humanitarian situation and achieving security and stability in Yemen.

This joint effort comes in accordance with the approved references represented by Security Council Resolution No. 2216, Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism and outcomes of Yemeni National Dialogue Conference, to meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, growth and prosperity, Fayez pointed out.
