Ammon News -

A Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, decided Sunday to approve a recommendation made by the Investment Council to extend the exemptions period granted to economic activities in the health sector "hospitals" that benefit from customs or tax exemptions, in accordance with the regulating investment legislation and decisions, which were issued before Investment Law No. 30 of 2014 entered into force.

Under the decision, the exemptions for health sector's economic activities will be extended from the date of the end of the exemption period to the time necessary to achieve conditions stipulated in the Investment Incentives Law No. 33 of 2015, which stipulate that five years should have passed from the actual start of the economic activity to the project's expansion and development phase.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved an amended bylaw of the Jordan Society of Tourism & Travel Agents (JSTA) for 2021.

The bylaw seeks to oblige travel and tourism offices and companies to join the JSTA, and to prevent the practice of the travel professions on the Kingdom until its membership is obtained.

The bylaw, moreover, grants the JSTA's General Assembly the power approve the annual financial and administrative report of its Board of Directors, and include all travel and tourism offices and companies under the Board's membership.
