Ammon News - Head of the Business and Professional Women Association (BPWA), Rana Abwah, said Jordanian industry needs "stronger" support, calling for spurring export and reducing production costs, especially the energy bill.
In her interview with "Petra," on Saturday, she stressed the need to support export of national products, prepare youth to possess technical and professional skills and stimulate young people to enter the vocational market.
Jordanian industrial sector "has proven its presence," and maintained the quality of its products and their competitiveness in the export markets, she pointed out.
Reviewing the most prominent challenges facing the industrial sector since its launch in Jordan nearly 70 years ago, she said the list includes lack of cross-governmental strategic plans, careful case studies based on information analysis, and focus on "quick" solutions that do not achieve sustainable development goals.
Lauding citizen's confidence in the national products as "good, " she said many have proven their competitiveness and high quality, however should be further strengthened by national campaigns, stressing the need to help industrial companies in promoting and developing their products to meet consumer needs.
Abwah also stressed the need to further activate the partnership between the public and private sectors through collective effort and teamwork to achieve interests of the national economy and address related challenges.
