Ammon News - Defense Order No. 32, which requires public servants and public transport drivers to get the COVID-19 vaccinations, will come into full force as of today Thursday August 5 of 2021.
The text of the order reads as follows:
I:
1- Every public sector employee who has not received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine or missed the appointment for the second dose must bring a negative (PCR) test that is valid for 72 hours on the morning of every Sunday and Thursday each week and hand it over to his/her line manager.
2- A public sector employee who violates the provisions of paragraph (1) thereof may not report to work, and the days in which he/she is not allowed to work shall be deducted from his annual leave balance. If she/ he exhausts the balance of his annual leaves, those days shall be deducted from his/her salary and allowances.
II:
It is not permissible to issue any work permit or renew annual residence to any person who has not received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine or missed the date of the second dose.
III:
1- Every driver of a public transport vehicle who has not received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine or missed the appointment for the second dose must periodically conduct a PCR test, provided that he has a negative PCR test certificate while working on the vehicle, the result of which is not older than 72 hours.
2- Anyone who violates the provisions of paragraph (1) of this article shall be punished with a fine of no less than (JD100) and not more than (JD500), and in the event of a repeat of the violation, he shall be punished with the maximum fine.
IV:
1- Every faculty or administrative staff member or student in any of the higher education institutions who did has not received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or missed the appointment for the second dose must bring a negative PCR test that is valid for 72 hours every Sunday and Thursday morning of each week and hand it over to his/her line manager and to the dean of the college or the student representative.
