Industry minister urges industrial sector to employ technology when promoting its products

Ammon News - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Maha Ali, called on the industrial sector to employ technology when promoting its products, opening new markets for it and overcoming challenges imposed by the Corona pandemic and the decline of exhibitions.

During a meeting with the Amman Chamber of Industry on Monday to announce the first virtual international exhibition for food industries, Ali expressed the ministry's readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities within the available capabilities to promote and support the industry, which constitute an important driver for the national economy.

In the meeting attended by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh, Minister Ali said that employing technology in promoting national products is a very important step to overcome challenges imposed by the Corona pandemic and the absence of organizing direct exhibitions.

She expressed her pride in the national industry which began to employ modern technology to market its products, stressing that the Jordanian industry is a key pillar in the national economy and one of the engines of economic growth.

Ali confirmed the ministry's readiness, through the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), to support Jordanian companies wishing to take advantage of the advanced technology in the e-marketing of their products.

Minister Hanandeh, in turn, stressed the importance of virtual exhibitions in light of the circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic on various aspects of life, in order to link with other countries and communicate with the outside world.

"We are witnessing many future steps in the field of information technology, covering all sectors in the Kingdom, as the ministry is working, in cooperation with partners, to develop the entrepreneurship sector, promote digital transformation and e-government, and design programs to enhance digital skills," Hanandeh added.
