Ammon News - The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said that his country welcomes the "New Levant" initiative that brings together Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq, Shafaq news reported.
During a press conference which was held online today, Khatibzadeh said- regarding Iran's view of the new Levant project between Jordan, Iraq and Egypt- that "Iran has always welcomed all opportunities to help develop Iraq's role in the region and also from any initiative that contributes to peace and stability in the region."
He also announced that the Iraqi president, Barham Salih is planning a visit to Iran and will most likely come to Iran for the inauguration ceremony.
